Who I Am, and Why You Might Want Me in the Room

I'm Jesse Thomas Do—a Systems Architect, Risk Strategist, and Conceptual Engineer working at the intersection of data infrastructure, platform compliance, and applied semiotics.

I've led risk strategy for Trust & Safety at Google, built risk frameworks at Capital One, and helped independent teams turn complex ideas into working systems. I translate tangled processes, fuzzy product goals, and ambiguous risk surfaces into durable architectures and decisions teams can actually act on.

I'm not the person with a pre-built playbook. I'm the one you bring in when the map doesn't match the terrain—and you need someone who can chart the next few miles, then help build the road.

I'm currently available for full-time roles, contract engineering, and strategic consulting—bringing structured insight, clean architecture, and a bias toward calm execution.

Three Ways We Can Work Together

Full-Time Leadership

For organizations hiring a senior leader to own platform, risk, or compliance engineering.

  • Embedded leadership across data platforms, risk programs, and compliance engineering
  • Architect operating models, hire and grow teams, set technical direction
  • Translate regulatory pressure into roadmaps engineers can actually ship against

Used by: Platform, Trust & Safety, and risk orgs at growth-stage and enterprise companies

Engagement: Permanent, full-time

Contract Engineering

For teams that need a senior systems engineer to build, not just advise.

  • Stand up data infrastructure, controls, and review tooling under real deadlines
  • Ship audit-ready pipelines, services, and integrations end to end
  • Hand off documentation, automation, and clear owners—not a black box

Used by: Risk, compliance, and platform teams shipping under regulatory or audit deadlines

Typical Timeframe: 4–12+ weeks

Strategic Consulting

For leaders standing up controls or platforms before they have the team to run them.

  • Audit existing systems, risk surfaces, and operating models
  • Architect target-state platforms, governance, and decision frameworks
  • Deliver a defensible plan—plus the artifacts your team needs to execute against it

Used by: Heads of Platform, Risk, Trust & Safety, and Compliance Engineering

Typical Timeframe: 2–6 weeks
